A modern digital presence for South Africa's oldest chemical manufacturer — making chemicals since 1908, and almost invisible online until now.

The situation

AECI Industrial Chemicals' oldest manufacturing plant dates back to 1908. A South African original with a century of heritage and a deep product portfolio — and online, almost none of it existed: a bare website with no contact details, no social media, no way for a buyer to find them.

New business ran through trade shows and printed brochures. The company had set a digital-first strategy to build awareness and traction, and engaged us for six months to make it real.

02

What we built

A complete reimagining of the brand online. Because the old site said so little, we worked stakeholder by stakeholder across the business to surface the USPs, capabilities, expertise and history it had never captured.

A bespoke product search tool across the entire chemicals portfolio — search by industry or by a single term — with detailed product descriptions built to generate leads.

Rich SEO, an organic social media presence built from zero, a personalised analytics dashboard for immediate insight into engagement and reach, and a library of digital marketing material: brochures, flyers and product overviews.

03

What changed

Social media grew organically from zero to more than 8,000 followers in six months, generating over 150,000 impressions a year.

The website drew 27,500 visitors in under a year — around 1,400 a month — with SEO putting the company in front of buyers searching Google.

Product search, descriptions and SEO now work as an always-on lead generation engine: potential customers assess the portfolio and get in touch without waiting for the next trade show.

World-class manufacturing meets global connectivity.
